Al-Qaida's leader claims in a video posted on the anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks that his warriors "defeated America in Iraq".

Ayman Al-Zawahri's message was posted on militant websites late Tuesday, to coincide with the anniversary.

The 57-minute video, titled "Truth has Come and Falsehood has Perished," included remarks by American citizen Adam Gadahn, a spokesman for Osama bin Laden and old footage of bin Laden and other al-Qaida figures.

Gadahn assails President Barack Obama for his statements that the Unites States is not at war with Islam.

He says "America is crystal clear about its opposition to Islam as a political system, Islam as a ruling system ... and the essence of Islam."

He then asks: "So, how can America say that it is not at war with Islam?"
