The Wisconsin GOP primary is "going to come down to the wire" between Donald Trump and Sen. Ted Cruz – and supporters of Ohio Gov. John Kasich may tip the scale for the Texas lawmaker, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker says.
In an interview with host John Catsimatidis of "
The Cats Round Table" on AM 970 in New York, Walker, who
dropped out of the White House race in September, said he'd be making an endorsement by the end of the week, ahead of the Badger State's April 5 primary.
"I'll decide in the next few days and announce at the end of the week,"
Walker said.
"It's going to be a tight race," he said. "It's boiled down to Donald Trump and Ted Cruz."
Supporters of Kasich could be key, he explained.
"I think for a number of those voters, they'll say, well, if their vote is not going to get him to be the winner come the convention, where do they want to cast, and my guess is that if a fair number of them break off, it might actually help Cruz get over the hump," he said.
"It's going to come down to the wire," he added.
