Seattle police had to use blast balls and pepper spray on Sunday to break up clashes between anti-fascist protestors and participants in a pro-Trump rally one day after violence and unrest left three dead and at least 34 people injured in Charlottesville, Va.
A pro-Trump group known as Patriot Prayer had planned a rally for Sunday prior to the events in Charlottesville, and a counter protest group comprised of the anti-fascist IWW, Veterans for Peace and the Freedom Socialist Party, organized its own march aimed at standing against hate.
Hundreds of people carrying signs opposing hate marched to downtown Seattle where Patriot Prayer had gathered, and police officers dressed in black riot gear tried to keep the groups separated with barricades.
Seattle police made some arrests according to King5 TV station, and officers confiscated weapons.
This latest melee comes a day after a woman was killed when a man allegedly plowed his car into a crowd in Charlottesville.
