Donald Trump is profoundly "ignorant," but he's not a "bad man," Vice President Joe Biden said Tuesday on CNN.
"This is an ignorant man. This guy says things he has no idea. But he's not a bad man. But his ignorance is so profound, so profound," Biden told Chris Cuomo, host of CNN's "New Day."
He pointed out Trump's controversial remarks that military veterans who suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder aren't "strong" and "can't handle it."
"I have my staff contact the Defense Department every morning at 6 o'clock to tell me exactly how many troops are injured, how many troops are wounded. Every one matters," Biden said, also disputing Trump's count of military wounded.
"It's not 6,700 and some. It's 6,753 deaths. Not 50, 53. It's 52,419 wounded," Biden said.
"The number of people coming home with unseen injuries, post-traumatic stress and traumatic brain injuries, is significantly higher. What's this say about a guy who doesn't have any notion of that?"
