Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen’s second day of testimony to lawmakers, scheduled for tomorrow, will be postponed because of a storm forecast to dump heavy snow on the U.S. East Coast starting today.
In a statement, the Senate Banking Committee didn’t announce a new date for the hearing. Yellen had been scheduled to testify before the panel at 10:30 a.m., following her first public remarks as Fed chair yesterday to the House Financial Services Committee.
Washington may get 8 inches of snow, according to the National Weather Service. The storm has left thousands without electricity across the U.S. South, snarled ground and air traffic from Atlanta to New York and spurred winter storm alerts from Louisiana to Maine.
