Donald Trump is not worried about a downward slide of the British pound, telling reporters it would actually increase business at his golf course in Scotland.

"Look, if the pound goes down, they're going to do more business," Trump said at his sprawling Turnberry golf resort in Scotland. "When the pound goes down, more people are coming to Turnberry."

The pound plummeted more than 10 cents as results of Thursday's Breixit vote trickled in, indicating the United Kingdom is in favor of leaving the European Union.

By Friday morning, billions of dollars evaporated from Britain's Royal Bank of Scotland, Barclays, Lloyds Banking Group and other financial giants.

Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, is in Scotland for the reopening of his Trump Turnberry complex. He said he supported the result of the controversial EU referendum.

"They took back control of their country. It's a great thing," the billionaire real-estate tycoon said.

His press conference had one bumpy moment when a journalist from The Guardian mentioned that key British leaders had refused to meet him, with one calling Trump "toxic."

Trump told the journalist he was "a nasty, nasty guy," BuzzFeed News' McKay Coppins reported.
