European Central Bank President Jean-Claude Trichet said on Friday he expected Greece's government to take the tough decisions required to address its fiscal problems.
"It is important that the government will take decisions. I have confidence that the government of Greece will take decisions which will be commensurate with the situation, which itself is calling for bold and courageous decisions," he told reporters when asked about Greece's situation, after delivering a speech on regulation in London.
Greece has been under pressure to address its fiscal deficit after ratings firm Fitch downgraded its sovereign debt earlier this week.
