The new U.S. jobs data reflects a fairly strong economic recovery, and American employers are trying to power through the latest coronavirus wave, with some people retiring early but others coming back to work, White House Council of Economic Advisers Chair Cecilia Rouse said on Friday.

"We believe that these data reflect that we've got a fairly strong labor market recovery that continues, even in the face of a continued pandemic," Rouse told CNBC.
