Argentina’s largest oil and gas company, YPF, has embarked on an ambitious effort to show that it is a solid bet for investors despite its nationalization by Buenos Aires. The recent push by YPF to meet with executives of Apache Corp. (NYSE: APA), Chevron (NYSE: CVX), Exxon Mobil (NYSE: XOM), Gazprom (LSE: OGZD), Sinopec (NYSE: SNP), and China National Offshore Oil Corporation (NYSE: CEO) to discuss possible partnerships to develop the country’s vast shale gas reserves is part of its attempt to overcome investor fears raised by its recent nationalization.
