Donald Trump's topsy-turvy political campaign is about to take a major hit on Thursday with a report that more than 50 business executives, which include longtime Republicans, will endorse Hillary Clinton for president.
The Wall Street Journal says among those turning their backs on the billionaire real-estate tycoon is Dan Akerson, who's been a top leader at General Motors Co. and Nextel Communications.
Another Clinton booster, James Cicconi, a senior executive vice president at AT&T Services and longtime GOP booster, told The Journal:
"This year I think it's vital to put our country's well being ahead of party. Hillary Clinton is experienced, qualified, and will make a fine president. The alternative, I fear, would set our nation on a very dark path."
Trump has been hammering Clinton as a corrupt politician who has "perfected the politics of personal profit and even theft," and practices a leadership style that is "volcanic, impulsive, disdainful and disdainful of the rules."
