The Lone Star State is preparing to open a new complex for storing gold that could eventually dwarf the deposits held in the U.S. Bullion Depository in Kentucky, more commonly known as Fort Knox.

The Texas Bullion Depository will open later this year in Leander, Texas, about 27 miles north of the state capital of Austin.
