Tuesday, 24 May 2011 03:28 PM EDT

Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis President James Bullard said he believes Europe’s sovereign-debt crisis poses the biggest threat to the U.S. economic recovery.

“It is the top threat to the U.S. economy today,” Bullard said today in response to audience questions after a speech in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

“The European policy makers have tremendous resolve” to back the euro, he said.
