White House: US Has the Tools to Keep Banking Safe

The United States government has the "tools necessary" to keep the banking system safe, the White House said on Tuesday, as a regional bank stock sell-off raised new concerns about an industry meltdown.

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation "will continue to monitor the banking situation," Karine Jean-Pierre, the White House press secretary, said. "We have the tools necessary to keep the banking system safe," she said.
