The secret of getting started is taking steps (actions). How often have you come across this statement?

The truth is, there are millions of prospective entrepreneurs who are reluctant or afraid to startup a business without knowing it’s as simple as daring it.

Starting a business can be a scary undertaking since there are no guarantees of success.

Keeping it afloat is another daunting task. However, if you’re troubled and confused about startups, embrace these five life hacks to getting started and getting ahead.

  1. Start a Business From the Resources Within You

Everyone born into the world is created with some set of abilities (skills, gifts, talents) to achieve a purpose. The issue some of us have is our inability to identify, recognize and explore our abilities for our benefits and humanity.

One way to achieve this is by having an ownership mindset or adopting ownership approach to whatever we do. This will avail you the opportunity to start up a business with the resources at your disposal.

  1. Engage in What You Love Doing and Be Patient

Choose to undertake tasks that align with your skills regardless of whether or not you are paid. Study it daily, do it daily it, and watch it blossom. But be patient because it sometimes takes even longer.

Take a look at Tesla Motors. It took years for the masses to really hear about its exploits, My advice is to pick something you love so much that when you wake up, you can't help but do it.

If you need motivation to do anything, you are already broken. If you have to be extrinsically motivated, you are doing the wrong thing. Intrinsic motivation is the only sustainable path to true success where you enjoy pain and pleasure in the pursuit of your dreams and goals.

To me, success is doing what I want with who I want, whenever I want. The “work-life balance” is a joke to me. If you love what you do and the people you are with, the two (work and life) should be integrated. To remain sustainable, you should strive for work-life integration as an end result.

  1. Be Immune to Fear and Criticism

Fear of failure is one of the problems hindering most people from starting up a business. It also hinders most entrepreneurs from either expanding or diversifying their business. Successful entrepreneurs are doing great today because they were able to conquer their fears and start up a successful business

Being gullible to fear and criticisms is a sign of weakness. You have to turn your fear into your advantage. An entrepreneur should be brave in the midst of turbulent and unpredictable nature of today’s business environment.

  1. Don't Be Content With Your Current State

Getting ahead requires not only having access to vital information, but harness such info in order to enhance your capacity to make critical business decisions. This could be in the area of service delivery, personnel management, sales promotion strategies, organizational culture etc.

Take a look at sports bookmakers, they think outside the box to attract and retain their clients despite the stiff competition in the industry. They achieve this by offering a deep menu of betting options and a range of regular promotional offers.

This is a hallmark of a focused and determined entrepreneur; seeking for ways to enhance your business performance to remain relevant in the industry. This can’t be achieved without having enormous info.

  1. Have a Set Routine to Remain Healthy

You have to perfectly understand the imperativeness of healthy living because it is crucial to wealth creation. There are times that the weights of your responsibilities and schedule can become overwhelming, you need to have specific strategies in place to combat that stress.

Make sure to take care of your physical health through daily exercise, mental health through daily meditation, and stay connected to family and friends each day to maintain a relational health.

Most importantly, don’t allow your business to revolve around you. Delegate tasks in order to raise leaders who can pioneer your business to greater height in your absence.
