Late Sunday night, Speaker Nancy Pelosi called President Obama to congratulate him on the passing of the Senate healthcare bill in the House. "I told him that I was certain that it would not have happened without his vision," she gushed to Diane Sawyer.

Though conservatives are loath to acquiesce much of anything this week, I, in fact, agree with Pelosi. This wouldn't have happened without Obama's vision. And, to echo Obama's friends in the liberal media, he absolutely did just ensure his legacy.

But when history recalls what just happened here in America, the only vision to be remembered is tunnel vision. And the legacy that Obama just ensured probably isn't the one he was hoping for.

Thanks to the unprecedented political crassness surrounding Obama's push for healthcare reform, the profanity of the process will vastly overshadow the product. The only way this moment will be remembered is with the haughty cynicism of hindsight.
