Thursday, 22 May 2014 01:52 PM EDT

Three Connecticut hedge fund executives at New Stream Capital LLC pleaded guilty to conspiracy charges in New Haven federal court, the government said today in a statement.

The men were charged last year with defrauding investors by lying about fund closings to avoid losing a client.

David Bryson and Richard Pereira, both of Ridgefield, Connecticut, and Bart Gutekunst of Weston, had pleaded not guilty to conspiracy, securities fraud and wire fraud.
