Rather than trying to fix the estate tax, abolish it. Eliminate the stepped up basis for inherited stock, and make inherited money and other gifts received taxable income for the recipients.

I hope that China doesn't attack anyone, and that its leaders will agree to cut way back on their military expenditures if other powers do likewise. Technology would allow everybody to live comfortable lives if the huge amounts were diverted into positive investments.

The Trump EPA now proposes to stop requiring corporations to measure and report the amount of greenhouse gases they're releasing. Apparently the administration fears all these measurements will undermine its feeble arguments that it's safe to continue burning coal, oil, and, gas to produce power.
