The board of Sprint Nextel Corp. may delay next week's shareholder vote on a takeover by SoftBank Corp., Bloomberg reported on Tuesday.
However, Sprint spokesman Doug Duvall said the company was still moving ahead with a scheduled June 12 vote for SoftBank's proposed $20.1 billion purchase of 70 percent of the No. 3 U.S. mobile provider.
Citing sources familiar with the matter, Bloomberg said Sprint's board was waiting on a binding offer from Dish Network, which made an unsolicited bid to acquire Sprint in mid-April.
Dish was not immediately available for comment.
