Rasmussen: Trump Approval Steady at 51%

President Donald Trump's job approval held steady at 51% in March, unchanged from February, according to Rasmussen Reports.

Forty-eight percent disapproved of Trump's performance, up 2 points from the previous month.

The poll found 36% of voters strongly approved of Trump's job performance, down 1 point, while 40% strongly disapproved, up 2 points.

The poll reports results by party but does not disclose the share of respondents identifying as Republican, Democrat, or unaffiliated.

Rasmussen Reports said the monthly figures reflect longer-term trends beyond daily tracking fluctuations.

The March results match Trump's highest monthly approval during his first term, when he reached 51% in February 2017.

His approval later dropped to a low of 42% in August 2017 before ending his first term at 47% in December 2020.

For comparison, former President Joe Biden reached a high of 52% approval in May 2021 before falling into the low 40% range through much of 2022.

Biden's approval later rose to as high as 48% in 2023 and ended at 45% in December 2024.

March data shows 45% of voters approve of Trump's performance, while 54% disapprove.

Among those voters, 29% strongly approve and 44% strongly disapprove.

Among Republicans, 77% approved of Trump's performance, including 55% who strongly approved.

Among Democrats, 19% approved, while 80% disapproved, including 71% who strongly disapproved.

Among voters not affiliated with either major party, 38% approved and 59% disapproved, with 30% strongly approving and 46% strongly disapproving.

The poll also found 40% of voters say the country is on the right track, while 55% say it is on the wrong track.

Rasmussen said the monthly results are based on approximately 8,000 interviews with likely voters, drawn from daily tracking surveys of about 350 respondents per night. The margin of sampling error for the monthly data is less than plus or minus 1 percentage point with a 95% level of confidence.
