The Institute for Supply Management-Chicago Inc.’s business barometer fell to 60.5 in September from 64.3 in the prior month, according to a report. A reading greater than 50 signals expansion.
The median forecast of 46 economists surveyed by Bloomberg was 62. Estimates ranged from 58 to 65. A report Wednesday may show the Tempe, Arizona-based Institute for Supply Management’s national factory index eased to 58.5 in September from a three- year high of 59 the prior month, according to the Bloomberg survey median.
