President-elect Donald Trump's daily use of Twitter could be breathing new life into the troubled social media giant, The Guardian reports.
The newspaper says in the past year, Twitter has had several of its top executives depart and has "struggled" as its revenue growth slows.
But Trump's daily tweets about his plans as president, his advice to Congress and his musings on almost everything have given Twitter new relevance.
"Trump is the best thing that ever happened to Twitter," said tech analyst Michael Pachter of Wedbush Securities told The Guardian.
But, he adds, "I've not yet seen Twitter do anything to market the site to non-users. They are failing to exploit an opportunity."
Trump, who routinely used Twitter throughout the 2016 presidential campaign and now plans to employ it in breaking news from the White House, once called the platform, "like owning your own newspaper — without the losses."
