Ross Levinsohn, Yahoo! Inc.’s former chief executive, today was appointed executive chairman of digital advertising agency MundoMedia Ltd.

The Toronto-based firm went public through a merger with Harmony Merger Corp., which has headquarters in New York.

“We are extremely excited that Ross is taking a much larger and more impactful roll at Mundo,” Jason Theofilos, chief executive of MundoMedia, said in a statement.

Prior to leading Yahoo, Levinsohn was president of Fox Interactive, a unit of Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp. Levinsohn is a board member of Tribune Media, Zefr and and Vubiquity. He graduated from American University.

“The growing importance of precision marketing plays squarely in the favor of MundoMedia’s business model," Levinsohn said in a statement. "Every day the chorus grows louder from marketers to substantiate value for every dollar spent – Mundo excels at delivering results and quality experiences.”
