Tuesday, 09 October 2012 08:24 PM EDT

Microsoft Corp. trimmed the fiscal 2012 bonus for Chief Executive Officer Steve Ballmer, citing slower-than-planned progress in the company’s online services division and the failure to comply with an agreement with European regulators.

Ballmer’s bonus was $620,000 in the period, short of the full target award and lower than $682,500 a year earlier, according to a regulatory filing Tuesday. Ballmer’s salary was $685,000.
