Home Depot co-founder Kenneth Langone says the election of Donald Trump as president is a referendum against "elites" who feel as though they are "entitled" to public office.

Trump "tuned in" to the anger, frustration and resentment that the American people have over political correctness and the economy, said Langone, now a founder of Invemed Associates, an NYSE-traded company specializing in tech and healthcare.

Langone, 81, made his remarks Thursday at the annual Free Enterprise Day at Florida’s Palm Beach Atlantic University which honors local and national business leaders for their work and philanthropic achievements.
