Facebook employees are no longer permitted to use political images as their profile pictures on the company’s internal social network, CNBC reports.

The change is part of a new set of rules Facebook put in place for its employees this week. The guidelines detail how staff communicates on the company’s internal platform Workplace. CNBC reports the policy changes were reportedly made amid concerns that discussions were getting too political.

Facebook workers will now be required to use a photo of themselves or their initials as their Workplace profile picture, according to CNBC.

But employees will still be able to modify their profile pictures with pre-approved frames, including a Black Lives Matter-themed one, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Facebook spokesman Joe Osborne told said the changes are meant to “make sure our people have both voice, and choice.”

“We deeply value expression, open discussion, and a company culture built on respect and inclusivity,” Osborne told CNBC in a statement. “What we have heard from our employees is that they want the option to join debates on social and political issues rather than see them unexpectedly in their work feed.”

The change comes after reports indicated that staffers are not happy with how Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has handled posts made by the president and other issues that were made on the Workplace platform.
