Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., said Thursday she was not "scheduling any visits to Israel" after the Jewish state banned two fellow first-term congresswoman for criticizing Israeli policies toward the Palestinians.

"[Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu's discriminatory decision to ban members of Congress from Israel harms [international] diplomacy," Ocasio-Cortez said on Twitter. "Visiting Israel and Palestine are key experiences towards a path to peace.

"Sadly, I cannot move forward w scheduling any visits to Israel until all members of Congress are allowed," she said.

Netanyahu said Thursday that Reps. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., and Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., were barred from visiting the country after President Donald Trump called on Israel to not let them in.

The pair are the first two Muslim women elected to Congress and are members of the Democratic Party's progressive wing who have regularly attack Israel regarding the Palestinians.

Tlaib and Omar have voiced support for the pro-Palestinian Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement. Under Israeli law, BDS backers can be denied entry to Israel.

Other legislators, including Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, N.Y., as well as Palestinians, strongly condemned Netanyahu's decision.
