China effectively putting Hong Kong "under martial law," authorizing the use of lethal force against anti-communism protests, shows the Chinese are "running out of patience,"   according to former NATO Supreme Commander Adm. James Stavridis.

"The Chinese have now put Hong Kong under martial law effectively," Adm. Stavridis told "The Cats Roundtable" on 970 AM-N.Y. "They continue to mass troops at the border of the former crown colony. And they are authorizing the use of lethal force. That's probably the biggest single thing."

Stavridis pointed host John Catsimatis to the shooting of a protester as a signal their "patience" has worn thing on anti-government sentiment.

"It's going to continue to get worse because, frankly," Stavridis said. "Chinese patience is running out with these protests. Look for that one to get worse, John, unfortunately."

Stavridis rebuked the Chinese government use of artificial intelligence to hunt down the leaders of the Hong Kong protest movement, spying on its citizens with the use of video and facial recognition technology.

"This is big brother at it's worse," Stavridis said.
