The Israel Defense Forces carried out strikes in Lebanon on Monday in response to several rockets fired towards the Jewish state.

Lebanese terrorists launched a barrage of rockets at the Western Galilee city of Ma’alot-Tarshiha, six of which were intercepted, according to the military. There were no reports of injuries or damage in the attack.

The IDF responded by shelling the source of the fire.

Also on Monday, troops used a drone to identify terrorists armed with shoulder-held missiles and directed a fighter jet to eliminate them.

Overnight Sunday, the military intercepted a “suspicious aerial target” that had crossed into Israel from Lebanon.

Israeli troops also targeted a terrorist cell in Lebanese territory.

The IDF announced on Sunday that Hezbollah had fired a rocket just 20 meters from a United Nations compound in Southern Lebanon.

In doing so, Hezbollah endangered the lives of UNIFIL soldiers and continued to systematically violate U.N. Security Council Resolution 1701, which bans the Iranian-backed terror group from operating within 30 kilometers of the border with Israel.

IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzl Halevi visited the Lebanon border on Sunday, reviewing the 91st Territorial Division and stating that “it is clear to us that this must end with a very clear change of the situation.”

IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari said the chief of staff met forces in the area, adding that evacuated northern residents would return when security is restored.

Earlier on Sunday, two drones, which infiltrated from Lebanon, were identified in the Western Galilee and were intercepted by the IAF Aerial Defense Array.

Two IDF soldiers were moderately injured, and four additional soldiers were lightly hurt from shrapnel and smoke inhalation.

In response, IAF fighter jets carried out extensive strikes on Hezbollah terror targets in Lebanon.

Hezbollah on Monday announced that two of its members were killed in Israeli strikes, bringing the number of deaths reported by the terrorist group to 100 since the start of the war on Oct. 7. However, according to IDF estimates, many more Hezbollah terrorists have been killed.
