The Israeli army on Monday, Dec. 4, released footage showing what it said were ground and air operations against Hamas militant targets in Gaza.

In the videos, Israeli soldiers could be seen carrying weapons and driving a tank, and aerial footage showed destruction of what the Israeli army said was Hamas infrastructure, including an observation post.

Reuters was not able to independently verify the location or the date when the videos were filmed.

The Israeli military said its forces were confronting Hamas fighters across the Gaza Strip, indicating its planned ground offensive in the enclave's refugee-crowded south had begun as Israeli bombing killed and wounded dozens of Palestinians.

On Monday morning, Israel's military posted to X a statement with new orders to Gazans to evacuate about 20 areas or blocks in the Gaza Strip, with three arrows on the map all pointing south indicating where people should go.
