Poland's Kaczynski Reprimanded for Saying Rivals 'murderers'

WARSAW, Poland (AP) — Polish media are reporting that Jaroslaw Kaczynski, the head of Poland's conservative ruling party, has been reprimanded by a parliamentary ethics committee.

The development Wednesday comes in response to an emotional outburst Kaczynski made in parliament last year in which he accused his political opponents of murdering his twin brother, President Lech Kaczynski, who died in a plane crash in Russia in 2010.

Kaczynski, a lawmaker and leader of the ruling Law and Justice party, appeared to confirm the development. The PAP news agency quoted him as saying that the reprimand was expected because opposition lawmakers have a majority on the ethics committee.

He called it part of a "brutal attack by the opposition."
