LONDON (AP) — The cast and crew of "Downton Abbey" will be awarded a special tribute from the British Academy of Film and Television Arts for its outstanding success in Britain and around the world.

Actress Julie Walters will present the award to the cast of the hugely popular TV period drama in front of an audience at a theater in Surrey, southwest of London.

BAFTA says all the current actors, including Maggie Smith, Hugh Bonneville, Jim Carter and Penelope Wilton, are expected to attend Tuesday evening's ceremony. Previous cast members Dan Stevens and Kiri Te Kanawa will also participate.

The series, about the occupants of a stately English mansion, is coming to an end after six years. Its final season is airing in September in Britain and in January in the U.S.
