President Donald Trump welcomes Prime Minister Shinzo Abe at the White House on Friday — and then he will whisk the Japanese leader away to Trump's Mar-a-Lago home in Florida to continue a summit on trade, North Korea, China "and a fair bit of golf," Yahoo News reported.

Like President George W. Bush's meeting with then-Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi a decade ago — when the Japanese leader, an Elvis Presley fan, was treated to a trip to Graceland — Trump's meeting with Abe will combine the formality of the presidential mansion with a more casual setting, Yahoo News reported.

"I imagine that there will be a fair bit of golf involved as well as more time together, meeting and just relaxing, really," a senior administration official told reporters about the stay at Mar-a-Lago, Yahoo News reported.

Trump aides, who describe Mar-a-Lago as "the winter White House," suggest Abe's visit at the private club won't be the last time Trump chooses to host a foreign leader there.

The president "believes in getting to know leaders that he knows he's going to be spending a lot of time dealing with, and on relationships that are important to him, he believes he can get the measure of people through more informal settings and so I imagine that he'll make use of time outside of Washington, D.C., with leaders form time to time," the senior administration official said, Yahoo News reported.

Another senior Trump aide, in answer to who who would cover the costs of Abe's trip, responded that it would be a "personal gift" from the president to the prime minister, Yahoo News reported.

The summit with Abe is Trump's second since taking office; he met British Prime Minister Theresa May's Jan. 27 visit, will speak with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau during his stop in Washington on Monday, and meets Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday.
