JOHANNESBURG (AP) — A private medical emergency service said all five people on board an ambulance aircraft were killed when it crashed while transporting a patient from Namibia to South Africa.

The emergency service, E-med Rescue 24, said in a statement that the plane crashed Sunday in the Tygerberg Nature Reserve outside Cape Town.

The statement said the crew was transporting an 80-year-old patient accompanied by his daughter. The plane was expected to land at the Cape Town International Airport.

The E-med Rescue 24 statement said the patient, his daughter, the pilot, co-pilot and paramedic were all killed in the crash.

The statement said the South African Civil Aviation Authority is investigating the exact cause of the accident.
