Junior Alexander Guy, 49, has received numerous calls and death threats at all hours of the day, after having the unfortunate luck of being assigned George Zimmerman’s old cell phone number, reports
MSNBC.
Zimmerman, the neighborhood watch leader who fatally shot unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin in February in a gated Orlando neighborhood, has elicited the ire of many who believe the shooting was racially motivated and unprovoked.
Alexander told the Orlando Sentinel that many of the messages left on his cell phone included calls that he deserved to die, and accused him of being a murderer.
Guy said the calls were elevated to the point that he had to move himself and his mother to a different location.
The number was the one Zimmerman gave to the police dispatcher the night of the shooting, and was subsequently circulated by news organizations.
