The Youth Misery Index for 2014 has grown more than 50 percent under the Obama administration and is higher than ever under any president, according the Young America's Foundation.

The YMI is decided based on youth unemployment, student loan debt, and national debt calculated together, which reached a record high of 106.5 in 2014. It was at 98.6 in 2013.

According to YAF, which calculates the YMI every year, the youth numbers have increased by 53.7 percent since 2008 when President Barack Obama was elected.

"Young people are experiencing hardships like never before under the Obama administration, and this generation is especially suffering the consequences of this administration's leftist policies," according to Ashley Pratte of the Young America's Foundation.

In 2014, the youth unemployment rate reached 18.1 percent, which includes all those out of work or school between the ages of 16 and 24.

Student loan debt reached $30,000 on average for young people, which has increased six percent on average since 2008. And the national debt per person in 2014 was $58,437 — the highest ever.

According to YAF, this is in addition to the 70 percent of college seniors who graduate with student loans that need to be paid back in the face of a still recovering job market.
