Weiner: I'm Still in Therapy for Sexting

By    |   Wednesday, 19 June 2013 02:16 PM EDT

Disgraced former congressman Anthony Weiner is still in therapy for his sexting habit, two years after it cost him his seat in the House of Representatives.

Weiner, who is now running for Mayor New York, told the New York Post that he remains in therapy, but would not go into any further detail.

Weiner, a rising star in the Democratic Party, was forced out in June 2011 after he finally admitted tweeting pictures of his crotch to followers on Twitter. He had represented New York's 9th District, covering portions of Brooklyn and Queens for 12 years.

His wife, longtime Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin has stood by his side throughout the embarrassing ordeal. She appeared in a video last month launching her husband's mayoral bid, the New York Daily News reported.

Abedin gave birth to the couple's first child, a son named Jordan, in December 2011.
