Officials from the Trump administration have filed a whistleblower complaint with the State Department against U.S. Agency for Global Media CEO Michael Pack for violating federal law, according to a copy of the complaint.

Six officials of the Senior Executive Services at the USAGM, which oversees Voice of America, have accused Pack of behavior that "constitutes an abuse of authority and gross mismanagement." Those officials were placed on administrative leave Aug. 12.

The 32-page complaint said Pack attempted to push out the whistleblowers who he said were a part of the "Deep State" and had a hand in his delayed confirmation to his USAGM post.

The complaint also claims Pack told an aide to research the voting records of employees in the agency, which included one of the whistleblowers Matthew Walsh, the deputy director for operations. The intel "was to be utilized in evaluation of career civil servants' abilities to carry out the duties of their positions."

Along with those concerns, the complaint also alleges chief financial officer Grant Turner was pressured to withhold funding to the agency's Office of Cuba Broadcasting, which had already appropriated the funding, for violating the Anti-Deficiency Act. Turner was also placed on leave in August.

"The allegations listed in the complaint are without merit and completely false," the USAGM told Politico. "All actions taken by the U.S. Agency for Global Media are in accordance with the law."
