Wednesday, 27 Mar 2013 04:22 PM

The FBI has joined Michigan and local police in investigating three shootings involving vehicles on southeast Michigan roadways.

The shootings happened Monday evening in Washtenaw County within roughly 15 minutes of each other. Two were in Bridgewater Township and one was in nearby Pittsfield Township, about 40 miles southwest of Detroit. No one was injured.

Pittsfield Township safety director Matt Harshberger tells MLive.com investigators think the shootings are related.

FBI spokesman Simon Shaykhet tells The Associated Press the agency is working with township, county, state and other federal authorities.

The FBI typically enters cases when police seek technical or staffing help.

Forty-three-year-old Raulie Casteel is jailed on attempted murder and other charges on accusations he fired on two dozen people on and near Interstate 96 in southeastern Michigan last year.
