TV producer Ryan Murphy has revealed he may introduce President Donald Trump as a character in his hit series "American Horror Story."

In an interview on Bravo's "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen," Murphy revealed the show's seventh season will focus on the 2016 presidential election.

"I don't have a title, but the season we begin shooting in June, is going to be about the election that we just went through. So I think that will be interesting for a lot of people," Murphy said.

When Cohen asked if a Trump character will be depicted in the anthology series, Murphy responded cryptically, "Maybe."

Horror-fan blogs quickly trumpeted Murphy's announcement as a great shot in the arm for FX program.

"When the sixth season of 'American Horror Story' premiered on FX last year, many were joking that nothing the show could bring to the table could ever hope to be as horrifying as things that were actually going on in the country; the real American horror story, they pointed out, was the presidential election," John Squires writes on Bloody-Disgusting.com.

"Well, it seems that light bulb also went off over Ryan Murphy's head."

Each season of "American Horror Story" is a self-contained miniseries with some plot lines loosely based by true events. Returning to the seventh season will be actors Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters.
