A San Antonio, Texas, wax museum has been forced to remove a wax figure of former President Donald Trump after visitors kept pummeling it.

The San Antonio Express-News said Louis Tussaud’s Waxworks had to move the figure of Trump to a storage room after it was repeatedly battered.

Not only had the figure been punched, but there were also deep scratches to its face.

"When it’s a highly political figure, attacks can be a problem," said Clay Stewart, regional manager for Ripley Entertainment, which owns the wax museum.

The newspaper reported that it is uncertain when the Trump wax figure will be back on display. But Stewart said it likely will not happen until a wax figure of President Joe Biden is received by the museum.

The museum decides which wax figures should be on display at any given time based on the popularity of the person. Right now, Trump is sharing storage space with 30 other figures, including W.C. Fields and George Washington.

It’s the politicians who have always been the biggest problem for the museum.

"We’ve always had trouble with the presidential section because no matter what president it was — (George) Bush, (Barack) Obama or Trump — they’ve all had people beat them," Stewart said. "The ears were torn off Obama six times. And then Bush’s nose was punched in."

He was referring to President George W. Bush, the newspaper noted.

"People are just aggressive about their political party," he said.

The Trump wax figure is dressed in a blue suit and a red tie and was the target of increased attacks as the 2020 campaign heated up, according to the newspaper.

A wax statue of Trump at Louis Tussaud’s Palace of Wax in Grand Prairie, Texas, has received much better  treatment than the one in San Antonio.

Vera Davis, the wax museum’s manager/supervisor, said there’s not been a single attack on the figure since it went on display in 2017.

"He’s a big photo op here," she said.

But the wax Trump figures aren’t the only likenesses of the former president.

Trump made his animatronic debut at Disney World’s Hall of Presidents in Orlando in late 2017, after months of delays and a string of controversial rumors.

A short clip of Trump's animatronic debut in the Hall of Presidents was leaked by Disney fan site WDWMagic.com, which showed the president standing near Abraham Lincoln at center stage.

According to Disney, Trump personally recorded phrases to be used exclusively for the Hall of Presidents. This is a longstanding tradition that has been fulfilled by each president since the early 1990s.
