Trump Repeats Kavanaugh 'Con Game' Charge

Wednesday, 26 September 2018 06:37 AM

President Donald Trump took to Twitter late Tuesday to repeat the claim he made to reporters earlier in the day that Democrats are playing a "con game" with the Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh's confirmation process.

He said on Twitter:

The Democrats are playing a high level CON GAME in their vicious effort to destroy a fine person. It is called the politics of destruction. Behind the scene the Dems are laughing. Pray for Brett Kavanaugh and his family!

His Twitter post did not repeat his earlier attack on Kavanaugh's accusers, in which he cast doubt on the validity of the claims of both Christine Blasey Ford and Deborah Ramirez, saying that they are “totally unsubstantiated.”

Focusing on Ramirez earlier, he said, “She says well it might not be him, and there were gaps, and she was totally inebriated, and she was all messed up, and doesn't know. It might have been him.”
