President Donald Trump ripped the “Radical Left smear machine” for calling for a boycott of Goya Foods after the company’s CEO lauded the president last week.

Trump tweeted Wednesday morning that Goya is “doing GREAT" and boycott attempts “backfired.”

“People are buying like crazy!” he wrote.

Goya CEO Robert Unanue praised Trump during a speech at the White House last week.

He said the U.S. is “truly blessed” to have “a leader like President Trump.”

His comments prompted backlash on social media. People began calling for a boycott on Goya Food products. Critics said Unanue’s praise of Trump doesn’t match up to the president’s stance on immigration.

Unanue told “Fox & Friends” on Friday that he would not apologize for his comments. He called the backlash he faced a “suppression of speech.”

On Tuesday, Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump posted a picture of herself holding a can of Goya beans on Twitter. The president also has tweeted his support of Goya in the days following Unanue’s speech.
