President Donald Trump spent Father's Day weekend at Camp David, which he referred to as a "very special place."

It was Trump's first visit to the presidential retreat in Maryland and he stayed there with wife Melania and 11-year-old, Barron. First Lady Melania tweeted a photo from Camp David late Saturday.

Early in his presidency, Trump often visited his Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Fla. Since it closed for the summer, the president has either played golf in Bedminster Township, NJ, or in Sterling, Va. at his clubs, which he has been criticized for.

Trump told foreign newspapers earlier this year that Camp David was "very rustic" and "you know how long you'd like it? For about 30 minutes."

Presidents have been visiting the retreat for seven decades. It's a short drive from the town of Thurmont, Maryland, and covers more than 125 acres, with a cabin for the president and about a dozen cabins for guests. Guests can use tennis courts, a heated swimming pool, a bowling alley and a movie theater. For the golf-loving Trump, there is a single golf hole with multiple tees.
