Tiger Woods was given the all-clear to resume playing golf last week, although his return to competition has not yet been determined.

ESPN reported Monday that Woods, who has battled back, knee, and other injuries for several years, was told by the doctor who performed lower back fusion surgery on him in April that there are no longer physical restrictions to what can do.

"He got a nice report and is allowed to proceed," Woods' agent Mark Steinberg told ESPN. "He can do as much as he needs to do. Tiger is going to take this very, very slowly. This is good, but he plans to do it the right way."

The 41-year-old Woods last played in February, when he withdrew from a tournament in Dubai because of his bad back. Following the surgery, he eventually was able to hit 60-yard pitch shots but that was it until last week, when he began posting videos on social media of him hitting full shots.

Woods said last month it is possible he will never play golf again because of all the injuries he has battled over the years and subsequent surgeries that he's endured.

Woods was arrested in May on suspicion of driving under the influence. He was found to have a mix of several drugs in his system, including marijuana, two types of painkillers, an antidepressant, and sleeping medication.

Woods completed a program over the summer designed to help him cope with his pain management and a sleep disorder.
