Texas salon owner Shelley Luther said people are traveling from all over the country to get their hair done in her Dallas salon.

She told Fox News' "Fox and Friends" host Steve Doocy on Tuesday she never doubted her decision to reopen even though her actions landed her jail. She said she has received tons of mail and praise for her actions.

“Business is booming,” she said. “We have people traveling from across the United States to come in to get a haircut just to prove a point that they support us. This is really giving people that sense of liberty back. I’m just really proud to say that we were happy to be a part of that movement.”

Luther was launched into national spotlight after she defied Gov. Greg Abbott’s lockdown orders and reopened “Salon A La Mode” in Dallas last month.

Luther was put in jail for two of her seven day sentence for disobeying the state’s stay-at-home order.

Since her release from jail, she said Texas Sen. Ted Cruz stopped by for a hair cut to show support and she has been flooded with donations and messages. When President Donald Trump mentioned Luther during an interview on Fox News, she said it was a “surreal” moment.

Luther said she never thought her decision to reopen wasn't the right thing to do.

“I never thought that,” she told Doocy. “That never crossed my mind.”

But she did say she was worried about her family while she was sitting behind bars.

"I was more concerned [about] my family, my boyfriend and daughters at home. I just felt helpless a little bit because I wanted to make sure they were safe. They didn’t ask for any of this.”

Luther was released from jail on Thursday after Gov. Abbott came to her defense and called for her release.

She was cited last month for opening her salon and tore up a cease-and-desist letter in front of TV cameras.

She said she made the decision to reopen after her stylists said they were going to make house calls. She said she knew she could provide a safe environment in the salon.

“I can make sure there are safety precautions on top of what the stylists are already trained to do,” she said.
