Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick Monday angrily tore into Black Lives Matters over the recent growth of violence in America's cities, insisting that the movement is about socialism and claiming that "they don't care" about Black lives.

"Every Black life matters," Patrick said on Fox News' "America's Newsroom." "Black Lives Matter? They’re not about Black lives. Where were they when Black cops were being killed? Where were they when Black teenagers and kids were being killed over the weekend in Chicago and other Democrat-run cities? They don’t care. Black Lives Matter is a socialist organization that wants to overturn the country. You can't reason with them, you can't reason with the mob."

Patrick said he wore a Texas State Trooper shirt on the program in honor of police officers Edelmiro Garza and Ismael Chavez, who were shot and killed in McAllen, Texas last week a suspect who turned his gun on himself last Friday.

The shooter "was a lowlife piece of trash," said Patrick. "When police officers showed up at his door, he shot multiple times in the face and chest. I'm tired of this and I proudly wear our state troopers shirt today."

The Republican state official also laid into Democrats and protesters who are pushing to defund the nation's police departments and allocate the money to social workers and other people as "plain-out idiotic."

"They send social workers out there and they will get social workers killed," said Patrick. "When you cut back their funding of police out there, it puts their officers in harm's way."

He also told the program that he's "so angry" about what is happening to the nation's police officers as a result of the growing violence, and "America better wake up and get angry about this or we won't have more police."

Show host Sandra Smith reminded him that Black Lives Matters officials have come out against violent acts, but Patrick retorted, asking when Joe Biden will be "coming out of the basement to put a stop to this. He could come out and join the president with statesmanship."
