Authorities evacuated a postal facility in South Los Angeles on Wednesday after workers found a suspicious package addressed to Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., the Los Angeles Times reported.
The evacuation came in the wake of a spate of packages of makeshift pipe bombs that were addressed to high-profile Democrats — including Waters, whose name was on a suspicious package mailed to her Washington office that was intercepted at a Maryland mail facility.
Officials from the Los Angeles Police Department and U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Firearms and Explosives planned to deploy a robot to examine the package in the newest delivery aimed at Waters, the news outlet reported, citing unnamed sources.
It’s unclear if the two packages are related.
