Olympic gymnast Simone Biles responded to news of her brother's arrest in a triple murder, saying she was having a difficult time processing the news.

Tevin Biles-Thomas, 24, was arrested last week and charged with six counts of murder, three counts of voluntary manslaughter, five counts of felonious assault and one count of perjury after fleeing a Dec. 31 shooting at an Airbnb in Cleveland, according to a joint statement from the Cleveland Division of Police and the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office.

"My heart aches for everyone involved, especially for the victims and their families," the gymnast tweeted Monday.

"There is nothing that I can say that will heal anyone's pain, but I do want to express my sincere condolences to everyone affected by this terrible tragedy," she added.

Biles, 22, the most decorated U.S. gymnast of all time, also asked for privacy as her family deals "with our pain."

Simone Biles and her three siblings lived in foster care until they were adopted by relatives. When she was 6, Biles and her younger sister were adopted by their grandfather in Texas while Biles-Thomas and another sister were adopted by a great-aunt in Cleveland.
