Two rookie Secret Service officers got fired over their handling of a March 10 fence jumper who made it within steps of the executive mansion before he was nabbed, CNN reported Thursday.

The Uniformed Division officers, both with less than a year on the job, were assigned to guard posts at the Treasury Building, and at an entrance to East Executive Avenue, CNN reported.

According to CNN, video surveillance showed Jonathan Tran, 26, of California jumping a fence in the northwest corner of the Treasury Building before bounding over two other fences and a gate – setting off multiple alarms as the Secret Service scrambled to find him.

He went undetected on the White House grounds for more than 15 minutes, CNN reported; the president was home at the White House at the time.

"The service did a fantastic job," Trump said the next day.

"It was a troubled person. It was very sad."
