Three months after he was unable to meet Pope Francis during a presidential visit to Vatican City, former White House press secretary Sean Spicer was able to meet him over the weekend.

America Magazine reports that Spicer was part of an International Catholic Legislators Network event that met with the pope in the Vatican on Sunday.

Vatican Radio posted an image on Facebook of the pope waving to the crowd, with Spicer in the front row snapping a photo of him. Another photo taken by L'Osservatore Romano, which follows the pope wherever he goes, shows the pope personally greeting Spicer.

A Catholic, Spicer accompanied President Donald Trump to the Vatican in May and was reportedly disappointed when he was not included on the list of people from the U.S. delegation who would meet the pope.

Spicer resigned from his post in the Trump administration in July.

The International Catholic Legislators Network was founded in 2010 and focuses on inspiring Catholics to integrate their faith into public office.
